Talia Barrales

Originally from Mexico, Attorney Talia Barrales immigrated to the United States at the age of 4 with her family. After earning a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from California State University and a Juris Doctor from the Massachusetts School of Law, Talia founded Barrales Law in 2013. Talia is dedicated to fighting on behalf of immigrant workers and families, and has extensive experience representing clients in complex immigration and employment law matters. In 2019, Talia argued and won a precedent-setting case before the United States First Circuit Court of Appeals in Rosales Justo v. Sessions (2018).

 Talia has built a successful law firm while remaining committed to providing pro bono services for indigent and low-income clients.  She works on various social justice projects and is a member and generous donor to Cosecha, an organization that advocates for immigrant rights, and The Chica Project, a nonprofit that promotes female empowerment. She is constantly involved in community projects that focus on access to justice and the advancement of human rights. The Boston City Council formally recognized Talia for her commitment to promoting women’s rights by designating January 20, 2017 as “Talia Barrales Day.”

 Talia’s expertise in immigration law is highly sought after and has landed her coverage in print and broadcast outlets throughout Massachusetts, including The Boston Globe, Telemundo, and Univision.  In 2020, Talia was recognized by the Boston Business Journal as one of the “top 40 under 40” Boston professionals. Talia is frequently invited to speak at universities and professional conferences and was a featured speaker at the “Nuestra Voz”: Amplifying Latino Power, Influence, and Impact Conference.

Talia is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Professional associations include the Boston Bar Association, American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Massachusetts Bar Association.

Stephanie Bonilla

Stephanie is a staff attorney at Barrales Law. Stephanie grew up in Honduras and moved to the United States at the age of 18 in order to pursue a college education at Bentley University. There, Stephanie became interested in international affairs and global issues, deciding to pursue a Global Studies major. During this time, Stephanie volunteered at REACH Beyond Domestic Violence, working with families that were victims of domestic violence.  After graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelors of Arts from Bentley University, Stephanie worked various jobs that connected her to immigrants and youth. Stephanie worked as a case manager for families struggling with homelessness at Old Colony YMCA in Brockton and as a youth worker for youth that were high-risk, court involved, or in the foster care system at More Than Words in Waltham.

Stephanie graduated from Boston University School of Law in May 2017, after which she began her career at KIND.  During her time in law school, Stephanie took courses and participated in activities that focused on immigration. She participated in the International Human Rights Clinic, an experience that took her to Mexico to visit immigrant shelters and other organizations advocating for the protection and rights of immigrants. In the clinic, Stephanie also helped draft a report on the disappearance of migrants in Mexico. Stephanie was funded to create and develop a Coordinated Care Collaboration with Cambridge Health Alliance (CHA) and Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) through which she served unaccompanied youth who were receiving health care through CHA.  Through the collaboration, health care providers referred youth that they recognized faced immigration obstacles and Stephanie undertook the representation of those clients. Stephanie also provided training to medical providers, social workers, and community partners in order to best serve the needs of the immigrant population.

Andrea Coral

Attorney Andrea Coral is a member of the Massachusetts and Florida Bar. She graduated cum laude from Florida Atlantic University, where she received her Bachelors in Political Science. She earned her law degree from Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad Law Center. During her law school career, she clerked for a firm focusing on personal injury cases. Attorney Coral was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2012 and was admitted to The Massachusetts Bar in 2016.

Attorney Coral has been representing injured workers throughout her entire career. In both Florida and in Massachusetts, she has focused her practice in the area of workers’ compensation law. Prior to joining Barrales Law, Attorney Coral represented the interest of injured workers throughout the entire state of Florida, mainly focusing on obtaining benefits for construction workers and farm workers.

In 2017, Attorney Coral joined the Barrales Law team and is fully committed to providing the highest quality of legal representation to injured workers with compassion and integrity. As a native of Colombia, Attorney Coral is fluent in both Spanish and English.

Professional associations include the Massachusetts Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association, Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorney, AILA, and member of the First Circuit United States’ Court of Appeals.

Thomas Logan

Thomas Logan is an Associate Attorney at Barrales Law where he represents clients in all aspects of immigration law including nonimmigrant visas, family-based petitions, and removal defense. He is a skilled trial attorney and frequently represents clients in immigration detention.

Thomas has an extensive background in criminal law and has represented clients in a variety of criminal proceedings, including jury trials. Thomas is an expert in analyzing the intersection between criminal and immigration law and advises both clients and other attorneys about how criminal charges and convictions can affect an immigration case.

Thomas graduated from Suffolk University Law School in 2016. During his time in law school, he focused on trial and appellate advocacy, with a focus in criminal law. Thomas interned at the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and with the Youth Advocacy Division of the Committee for Public Counsel, the public defender’s office in Massachusetts.

 Thomas was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in 2016. Professional associations include the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys and Phi Alpha Delta, an international legal fraternity.

Camila Ransom

Camila R. Ransom is an Associate Attorney at Barrales Law. Camila has extensive experience representing clients with family-based petitions, consular processing, humanitarian visas, removal defense, and Special Immigrant Juvenile visas, among other areas.  She is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Prior to joining Barrales Law, Camila worked representing clients in immigration proceedings in a variety of legal settings, from legal services to private Boston-based firms. Camila also worked for a civil litigation firm where she focused on insurance defense matters. 

Camila graduated from Suffolk University Law School in May of 2015. While in law school, Camila was awarded a legal fellowship with a human rights organization in Cape Town, South Africa. She also served as a Student Attorney in the Accelerator to Practice Clinical Program, where she represented families in eviction defense and in discrimination matters.

Camila received her undergraduate degree from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York where she majored in Sociology with minors in Political Science and Information Technology. Prior to law school, Camila worked as a Senior Legal Assistant for a large, international law firm in Washington, DC.

As a native of Santiago, Chile, Camila is fluent in Spanish and English and is dedicated to serving the interests of the immigrant community.
